Follow-up

Every visit has a clear purpose.

Share important information with your doctor, and review your response and side effects before any dose increase.

Before starting and during follow-up

What your doctor needs to know

Pregnancy or plans for pregnancy

Mounjaro is not used during pregnancy. If you are planning pregnancy, discuss when to stop with your doctor.

Oral contraception

You may need a non-oral method or a barrier method for 4 weeks after starting and for 4 weeks after each dose increase.

Insulin or diabetes medicines

Doses may need adjustment to reduce the risk of low blood sugar.

Surgery or endoscopy

Tell the anaesthesia team the medicine name, date of your last dose, and any stomach symptoms.

Previous pancreatitis or gallbladder disease

Mention your history and report new symptoms promptly.

Severely delayed stomach emptying

Especially if you have repeated vomiting or extremely early fullness.

Before increasing the dose

Answer these three questions

1Have at least 4 weeks passed?

Rushing does not give your body enough time to adjust.

2Are the side effects manageable?

If eating or drinking is difficult, do not increase before assessment.

3Do you actually need an increase?

If fullness and weight loss are good, your current dose may be enough.
