Make the appointment useful
Arrange an assessment if weight affects your health or mobility, or previous attempts have not led to lasting improvement. Bring your medicine and supplement list and brief notes about sleep, eating, activity, and past treatment. Discuss practical barriers and the health goals that matter to you.
Snoring and sleepiness need attention
See a clinician if someone notices pauses in your breathing during sleep, you wake gasping, or you feel very sleepy during the day. These can indicate sleep apnoea and may require a sleep assessment. Avoid driving when sleepiness makes it unsafe.
When eating becomes distressing
Ask for help if you repeatedly eat large amounts while feeling unable to stop, especially when this causes shame or distress afterward. These may be signs of an eating disorder that needs assessment and appropriate treatment. Also discuss weight concerns affecting your mood or daily life.
